Holmium oxide
Holmium Oxide (Ho2O3) Powder is a rare-earth compound known for its striking pale yellow color and unique optical properties . With a high melting point of approximately 2,415°C and a density of 8.41 g/cm³, this powder is insoluble in water but readily soluble in mineral acids.
Price: $0.00
Applications
Optical Filters & Calibration: The unique, sharp absorption bands of Ho2O3 make it ideal for manufacturing precision optical filters and wavelength calibration standards for spectrophotometers.
Lasers: Used as a dopant in solid-state laser crystals and glasses
Magnets: Added to some high-performance permanent magnets to adjust magnetic properties and temperature stability.
Nuclear Control: Holmium has a high neutron absorption cross-section.
Glass Coloring: Imparts a distinctive yellow or amber color to specialty glasses and cubic zirconia (simulated gemstones).
